Kevin Morris born March 12, better known as KEV, is a pre-teen hip hop and R&B singer and dancer, who will release his debut album September 2008. His self titled album contains music that is sure to be a hit with listeners of all ages. Listening to Kev sing, there is no doubt that he has been given a gift. Rarely do you find a talent of this magnitude in someone of such a young age. Kev’s stage performances prove his love for the stage, his music and his fans. Humble, well spoken, and handsome, Kev has a magnetic appeal. He is a quiet wonder, who seems to transform on stage into a confident seasoned performer. Dance and acrobatic ability, along with his natural inclination for harmonies makes his stage performance visibly and audibly thrilling. Opening major concerts for Chris Brown, Mario and others, in front of packed venues, inspired Kev to push even harder. Not just to be an opening act, but to become the best and a headliner himself one day soon.
Inspired by such greats as Sam Cooke, young Michael Jackson, and recently Chris Brown and Mario, Kev delivers new school flavor with a timeless punch. Music has been way of life for Kev since before he can remember. He comes from a family that is musically and athletically gifted. Excelling in football and track, Kev showed no sign of possessing musical ability.
Before becoming a vocalist, he was interested in becoming a professional football player. At the age of seven Kev expressed interest in participating in a local talent contest, his father insisted on hearing him sing and was surprised to find Kev had a unique gift for music.
After two years of developing his vocal ability, Kev began recording fall of 2006 in Take Note Studios, (Fayetteville, GA). The single "Yes or No" was chosen in the Spring of 2007 as the first single to test the Southern market. In Atlanta, "Yes or NO" was featured by Greg Street on V-103. Thanks to the fans, Kev’s song became the most requested, and Kev was invited by the station to open up for Chris Brown’s exclusive concert. In Alabama, at Montgomery’s Hot 105.7 "Yes or No" went to number one within three weeks of it’s add day. It remained at the number one spot for six weeks. Because of it’s success, Kev was invited to open for Mario and established Kev a fan base throughout the South.Now with the album completed an numerous concerts under his belt, Kev is ready to make 2008 his year worldwide. This album is like a breath of fresh air. "I wanted real music on my project and lyrics that are interesting and anyone can listen to them," says Kev. Apparently he got what he wanted. The album has both ballads that allow Kev to stretch out vocally as he sings from the heart, and hot upbeat dance tracks that make you want to move. All of this with content that is both fun, age appropriate and thought provoking. Listen and it will take you about fifteen seconds to realize that what you hear is only the beginning of Kev’s climb to the top in the music industry.
